Frankly Speaking
Before evolving into a marketing executive, R F Timberlake & Company's president began his award-winning media career as a broadcast and print journalist helping the news industry to gravitate towards more in-depth and investigative reporting. Frank Timberlake taught broadcast and advertising, managed numerous political campaigns and operated media outlets with Linda, his wife and business partner. He has never been shy about speaking his mind. Having limited Frank to the subject of marketing, we hope you will enjoy Frankly Speaking, a marcom blog.
FACEBOOK - GO AHEAD AND MAKE MY DAY (WHILE DOING YOURSELF IN)
Here's the beef. Social Media or Digital Media, if you prefer, should be called Revolutionary Media because as soon as you barely squeak by knowing the latest great SM techniques and back door-get-the-most-out-of-it tricks, it changes.
Facebook doesn't get it. As an ad agency that uses every facet of marketing communications "toolery" - visual, graphics, every level of word games - all to draw attention and to get a response to a call to action, Facebook continues to slow down our efforts to bold and better the digital game.
Facebook still kicks back images and graphics with almost any words in it. Here is a great example for a real client in which we are comparing cheap or free software or big box cube services to those of a licensed professional working from a legitimate and private office of professional services.
YOUR PAGE BOOST HAS BEEN HALTED DUE TO TOO MUCH TEXT IN PHOTO..
Facebook People (If there are any real people back there, tap, tap, hello) you need to help us who advertise (yes, we are an ad agency trying to promote clients services with PAID ads on Facebook) by allowing our graphics and photos to flow much easier.
It is highly frustrating to the point of turning to other digital media, to come up with a great selling post on a client page only to have the graphics or photo turned down by Facebook.
You are shooting yourself in the foot! Fix it or lose the revenue.
