We are overjoyed with winning two 2015 American Graphic Design Awards. One award is for our 25th anniversary and I cannot think of a better present. I want to thank Senior Designer Erik Macenas for taking a general idea and blossoming it into a winner. He's done that for us several times. And we want to thank Designer Alberto Ramos Gutierrez for his inspiration on the Scott Farms/Sweet Potato brand and packaging logo for LAD'S Sweeties. Zebulon, NC based marketing communications firm R F Timberlake & Company, Inc. has garnered two national awards for graphic design for 2015. "Staged for almost 50 years by Graphic Design USA, this is one of the largest competitions for graphic advertising and marketing design in America with about 10,000 entries and less than 15% awarded, so for us to win an award is gratifying but for our firm to win two American Graphic Design Awards (AGDA) is absolute joy for us, our people and our clients," said company president, Frank Timberlake.
"We don't overstate our company, so when I asked designer Erik Macenas to create something tasteful but simple for our 25th year of being in business, I fell in love with the corporate anniversary logo, but had no idea the peer judges of AGDA would revere it with an award, said Timberlake, adding, "Our co-worker connections and our communications just rock."
The second AGDA award was for a product branding and packaging concept and logo for Wilson County, NC's Scott Farms, a national and international sweet potato producer. Notified of the award, Director of Marketing Jeff Thomas commented, "RF Timberlake & Company did a fantastic job on an auxiliary brand concept and design project. It encompassed everything we were trying to achieve while maintaining integrity of the concept and goals. In the prelaunch stages of the project, Frank and his people took the time to understand the mission and to find the right design strategy to meet the needs of Scott Farms. RFTCO has a collection of the finest professionals in the business for Public Relations, media relations, advertising and yes, design work." Design artist Alberto R. Gutierrez led the design effort to capture the company's approval and the second national award.
Recognized as one of the largest and broadest category competitions, the American Graphic Design Awards is open to advertising agencies, graphic design firms, corporations, institutions, publishers and more. There are many categories honored with awards across media including, print and collateral, advertising and sales promotion, corporate identity and logos, internet and interactive design, packaging and p-o-p, broadcast and motion graphics.
